Lipid Panel — Cholesterol & Cardiovascular Health
A lipid panel measures important fats in your blood and is commonly used to assess cardiovascular risk. It provides information about cholesterol and triglycerides, helping you and your healthcare provider better understand factors associated with heart health.
Apolipoprotein B (ApoB) — A Deeper Look at Cardiovascular Risk
ApoB is a protein found on potentially atherogenic lipoprotein particles—the particles that can contribute to plaque buildup in the arteries. Measuring ApoB provides information about the number of these particles and can add valuable insight beyond a standard cholesterol panel.
Lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a) — Inherited Cardiovascular Risk
Lp(a) is a cholesterol-carrying particle whose level is largely determined by genetics. Elevated Lp(a) is an independent cardiovascular risk factor, making it an important biomarker for understanding risk that may not be apparent from standard cholesterol testing alone.
Apolipoprotein A1 (ApoA1) — HDL-Related Heart Health
ApoA1 is the primary protein found in HDL particles. Measuring it provides additional information about the lipoproteins involved in transporting cholesterol away from tissues and can complement ApoB and traditional lipid measurements.
hs-CRP — Inflammation & Cardiovascular Risk
High-sensitivity C-reactive protein, or hs-CRP, measures low levels of inflammation in the body. When interpreted appropriately, hs-CRP can provide additional information about cardiovascular risk. Because infections, injuries, and other inflammatory conditions can temporarily raise CRP, results should be considered in context.
Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) — Your Longer-Term Blood Sugar Picture
A1c reflects your average blood glucose levels over approximately the previous two to three months. It is widely used to screen for and monitor prediabetes and diabetes and can reveal changes in glucose regulation that may not be obvious from how you feel day to day.
TSH — Thyroid Function
Thyroid-stimulating hormone, or TSH, is a key screening marker for thyroid function. Your thyroid helps regulate metabolism and influences many processes throughout the body. An abnormal TSH result may indicate that additional thyroid evaluation is appropriate.
Vitamin D, 25-OH — Vitamin D Status
Vitamin D plays an important role in bone health and calcium metabolism and contributes to normal muscle and immune function. Measuring 25-hydroxy vitamin D is the standard way to assess your body's vitamin D status.
Ferritin — Your Stored Iron
Ferritin reflects the body's iron stores. Measuring ferritin can help identify depleted or elevated iron stores and provides information that isn't available from a standard blood count alone.
Albumin — Protein, Nutrition & Organ Health
Albumin is a protein produced by the liver that performs several important functions in the bloodstream. Albumin levels can provide information related to nutritional status as well as liver and kidney health, although abnormal levels can have many possible causes.
